Munch is a registered charitable non-profit founded in 2015 to provide employment and training opportunities for people with cognitive disabilities. The organization began as a social enterprise catering business, initially employing three team members, each earning a full wage for their work.

Since then, we have expanded to employ nine team members, and in fall 2025, we will open a Café, which will allow us to significantly increase the number of employment opportunities we offer.
​
It is deeply rewarding to see our team members flourish as part of a supportive team, engaged in meaningful and enjoyable work. Once a team member completes their training and is ready for the next step, we help them identify a career path and provide support in finding and maintaining their next job. This creates space for us to welcome and train new individuals, continuing the cycle of empowerment and growth.

In addition to our employment programs, Munch undertakes various projects aimed at
supporting people with cognitive disabilities and promoting inclusion in society.

Munch’s long-term goal is to become fully self-sufficient through our sales revenue. However, our business model also includes a job developer role and projects that do not generate revenue (eg: cooking classes for people with cognitive disabilities, transition support work with high school students with cognitive disabilities). While we have made tremendous progress in catering sales, allowing us to employ more people and cover a greater portion of our expenses through sales, we still rely on community support to sustain and expand our mission.
Donate to the Capital Fund

Munch is opening a new Café which will create opportunities to employ more people with cognitive disabilities, allow new types of training programs, and establish a significant new revenue stream that moves us closer to full self-sufficiency. With a successful Café, we anticipate achieving self-sufficiency within one to two years.
​
The Café will also serve as a venue for inclusive community events, designed to create safe, welcoming spaces where people with cognitive disabilities can connect and feel valued.
​
However, launching the Café comes with considerable setup costs. The G Murray and Edna Forbes Foundation has generously contributed $20,000 toward this project. To complete the move and fully equip the space, we will require an additional $50,000.
