Munch offers a diverse range of programming for adults with cognitive disabilities.
Cooking with Munch
Munch has been pleased to partner with Inclusion Regina in the offering of Cooking with Munch, a life-skills focused series of classes for adults with cognitive disabilities. These six-week classes are offered one evening per week for six students at a time. The first cycle focused on cooking simple meals on a budget and the second focused on baking skills.
Food Safe Level I
Munch has a certified Food Safe Level I instructor on staff who has been approved to teach Food Safe Level I to people with cognitive disabilities. Since February 2016, Munch has helped 12 people acquire Food Safe Level I.
Munch has been fortunate to be the recipient of several notable grants in 2018 that have allowed them to expand into unique programming in the community.
SETI & The Lorne and Evelyn Johnson Foundation
Funds received allowed Munch to create a job developer position within the organization. The job developer has been responsible for helping several former catering assistants find meaningful work in the community and has allowed new individuals to experience employment with Munch. The job developer has also been working with several graduates of the Food Service Training Program to help them in their search for employment in the community.
